You are nowhere safer than in the air. International safety records prove: No other mode of transport has less accidents than the aviation sector. Whether on the ground or in the air – airlines, airports and air traffic controllers do everything possible to ensure that flying in Germany is and remains safe. This is a complex task, as the number of flights and passengers is growing constantly. While 120 million passengers travelled through German airports in 2001, this number grew to 168 million by 2010 - an increase of around 40 per cent! German aviation constantly updates and improves its safety measures. Security checks in airports, airplane technology and flight safety systems are subject to constant development cycles. This helps keep flight travel not only safe, but also comfortable and convenient for our passengers.
